Pokémon Survivor Burst looks simple from the title screen and then dumps a full roguelite onto you: auto-attacks, Burst ultimates, mid-run evolutions, a per-Pokémon mode ladder, and a shop that spends fragments on permanent upgrades. This hub is the map. Use it when you would rather jump to a specific problem than reread the whole wiki.

The game is a free fangame by ClessioTV, released on 23 August 2026 through Eevee Expo. It is not a Roblox experience and it is not on Steam. You download a Windows ZIP or the macOS/mobile alternative, then survive swarms in the style of Vampire Survivors while using Pokémon kits. If you have not installed a build yet, start with the download and install guide so you do not wipe the Data folder on macOS or expect a fully tested mobile port.

First session

New players should treat Classic Mode as the tutorial even though version 4.5 shows the mode list from the start. Move, let attacks fire, pick a bonus when you level, and learn when Burst is worth holding. The getting started walkthrough covers that first hour, including the Mudkip confirmation screen (Water Pulse, Damp Recovery) and why so many leaderboard names sit on that starter.

If the menus feel like RPG Maker XP, that is because the project runs on Pokémon Essentials 21.1. The controls guide translates on-screen prompts — Sort, Filter, Shop Core, Hide Details — into a usable layout and points at the Options menu added in version 2.5 for devices that stutter.

Unlocks, modes, and the long-term loop

Progress is not a shared account unlock that applies to every fighter at once. Clearing Classic on a Pokémon unlocks Rush for that Pokémon. Clearing Rush unlocks Tower for that Pokémon. Endless Mode arrived in 4.5 with its own shop and currency — the dedicated Endless Mode guide covers that sink. Roster growth is a second ladder. You complete challenges during runs to unlock more playable Pokémon. Marketing copy listed 31 fighters; later patches added Generation 4, Challenge Pokémon, and regional forms. Combat systems worth a dedicated page

Burst is not a second basic attack. It is the named ultimate layer that sits on top of passives and the extra attacks you pick during a run. If your damage plateaus, read the Burst system guide before you reroll every bonus. Evolutions and Kecleon’s permanent tree are the other half of power: mid-run evolutions, Gallade / Hisuian Typhlosion / Alolan Raichu branches, fragments, and Shop Core. When you care about who is actually posting scores, leave this hub for the tier list and best builds. The public Classic board is heavily Mudkip; that is evidence, not a rule that every other starter is unplayable.

How to use these guides together

A sensible route looks like this:

1. Install from download and set Options if the frame rate dips.
2. Play Classic with a starter using getting started.
3. Learn Burst so you stop wasting the gauge.
4. Push that same Pokémon through Rush and Tower, then Endless if you want the 4.5 shop.
5. Spend fragments in Kecleon’s shop and chase unlock challenges.
6. Compare scores on the leaderboard tool and scan patch notes after each ZIP.
