Best Builds

A build in Pokémon Survivor Burst is not a downloaded loadout. It is a chain you assemble during a run and then between runs. ClessioTV’s official verbs are the whole toolbox: passive skills, multiple attacks, Burst ultimates, evolutions, and synergies. Version 2.0 added Bonus Reroll and Ban. Version 3.0 added the Kecleon Shop for permanent upgrades paid with fragments, including the Shop Core tree. Version 4.5 reworked active abilities, added an Endless-only shop with its own currency, and opened regional evolution forks. This page teaches that loop. It will not invent a 40-name item catalog. If a name is not Kecleon Shop Core, fragments, Star Pieces, Burst, Bonus Reroll, or Ban, it does not belong in a “best builds” shopping list on this wiki.

Read getting started if you have not finished a Classic clear. Read the Burst guide and evolutions alongside this page. Rankings and Mudkip’s Classic evidence live on the tier list hub.

The five in-run levers

Passives are the identity you protect. Mudkip’s published passive, Damp Recovery, restores 8% HP. That is a sustain lever. Another species will bring a different verb. When a level-up offer tries to replace or dilute the thing that keeps you alive, that is what Ban is for.

Multiple attacks are how a kit stops being a single projectile. Water Pulse’s bouncing shots are Mudkip’s opening skill, not the entire endgame. Offers that add coverage, density, or a second pattern are usually the difference between a cute starter run and a 200+ level Classic. Offers that only look loud but occupy the same lane as your opener are the first things to reroll.

Burst is the ultimate unique to the Burst system. It is not a fourth passive. Spend it on bosses, on screens that have already wrapped around you, or on the moment before an evolution breakpoint where dying would waste a long setup. Holding Burst forever is how score runs end on a full gauge.

Evolutions are mid-run body swaps. They change the pressure you can survive. Version 4.5 also added regional forks — Kirlia into Gallade, Quilava into Hisuian Typhlosion, Pikachu into Alolan Raichu — under specific requirements that are not fully published. Do not plan a “best build” around a fan-made dawn-stone checklist. Plan around the default evolution you can actually trigger, then experiment with regional forks using Discord and patch notes.

Synergies are the reason two mediocre offers can beat one spectacular offer. A sustain passive plus a bouncing attack plus a Burst that clears the screen when both are online is a build. Three unrelated damage pops that never stack is a pile. If you cannot say in one sentence what the pile does, Ban or Bonus Reroll until you can.

Ban and Bonus Reroll (version 2.0)

The changelog names the systems; it does not print a user manual with unpublished charges. In every other bullet heaven with those names, Bonus Reroll redraws the current level-up offer, and Ban removes a choice so later offers stop wasting the roll. Play them that way until a patch note says otherwise: reroll noise, ban the trap that keeps coming back, and protect the passive or attack that is carrying the run.

Practical rules that do not require fake item names:

  • Ban the offer that fights your passive. If you are a sustain body, do not let a glass-cannon bonus keep appearing.
  • Reroll when all three (or however many you see) options occupy the same role. Three “more of the same projectile” picks are not a synergy.
  • Do not Ban out of boredom on run one. Learn the offer pool on Mudkip Classic first, as described in the starter guide.
  • Tower Mode gained exclusive temporary bonuses in 3.0. A Ban list that made sense in Classic can be wrong in Tower. Rebuild the list per mode.

Between runs: fragments, Shop Core, Star Pieces

Fragments are the permanent-economy token. Version 3.0 lets you spend them in the Kecleon Shop on permanent upgrades. Completing Tower awards an additional Fragment, which is why mode progress is build progress even when the Tower run itself is ugly. Buy Shop Core upgrades that help every future kit — survivability, offer quality, economy — before you spend like a tourist on a novelty that only flatters one species you rarely play.

Star Pieces are not a build material. They mark challenge and achievement progress on the choose-a-Pokémon grid. Spending your week chasing stars is roster work, covered in unlock challenges. Mixing them up with Shop Core purchases is how players think they “equipped a star” and then wonder why Water Pulse did not change.

Endless Mode (4.5) adds a specialized shop and a new currency exclusive to that mode. Do not assume Classic fragments and Endless currency are interchangeable. If you are score pushing Classic, stay in the Kecleon Shop Core. If you are learning Endless, treat that shop as a separate build layer until the game modes page and a patch note say how the two wallets meet.

A Mudkip Classic score skeleton (not a fake recipe)

Start from the published card: Water Pulse bouncing shots, Damp Recovery 8% HP, 112 HP, 2.32 Speed. Protect the sustain. Add attacks that widen coverage instead of stacking identical forward shots. Use Burst when a pack would otherwise erase the HP pool you have been drip-healing. Evolve when the run is stable, not as a panic button after you already leaked. Between runs, feed fragments into Shop Core, then go again. That is why the public Classic board is a Mudkip wall — Novoxy 331 / 6.5 million, Jordan 262 — and why copying a YouTube item name this wiki cannot verify will not beat that loop.

Leave the skeleton when the job changes. Unlock nights want the species the challenge named, even if its card is unpublished. Tower nights want the Tower-only temporary bonuses. Regional nights want Gallade, Hisuian Typhlosion, or Alolan Raichu only after you accept that the exact fork steps are still unpublished. The controls page will not save a bad Ban list. The unlock checklist will not print score. Pick the job, then pull the levers this page actually named.

A build checklist you can reuse

Before confirm: read type, HP, Speed, skill, passive. During the run: one sentence for the build, Ban traps, Bonus Reroll noise, Burst on purpose, evolve on purpose. After the run: fragments to Shop Core, Star Pieces to the checklist, mode unlocks noted per Pokémon, Endless currency left in Endless. If a guide asks you to farm an unpublished named trinket, close it. The live toolbox is smaller than the rumor mill, and that is the point of a 4.5 fangame still adding Generation 5 and 6 poll winners. Rebuild next week when the updates hub moves; do not rebuild because a stranger invented a shop tab.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What systems actually make a build?

Passives, extra attacks, Burst, evolutions, and synergies in-run; Ban and Bonus Reroll from version 2.0 to shape offers; fragments spent on Kecleon Shop Core permanents between runs. That is the official toolbox.

What are Ban and Bonus Reroll?

Version 2.0 added both. Treat Bonus Reroll as a redraw of the current level-up offer and Ban as a way to stop a bad option from returning, unless a later patch note says otherwise. Exact charge counts are unpublished.

What should I buy from Kecleon?

Permanent upgrades on the Shop Core tree with fragments. Tower completion grants an extra Fragment. This wiki will not invent a fake catalogue of shop trinkets beyond that.

Are Star Pieces part of a combat build?

No. They track achievements and challenge progress on the choose grid. See unlock challenges. They do not fire with Burst.

Should every build copy Mudkip Classic?

Only if the job is Classic score pushing. The public board is a Mudkip wall, but unlocks, Tower, Endless, and regional forks need different species and different shops. Start from the tier list job list, not from one screenshot.

Where are the regional evolution steps?

Version 4.5 says Kirlia can become Gallade, Quilava can become Hisuian Typhlosion, and Pikachu can become Alolan Raichu under specific requirements. The exact steps are unpublished. Use Discord and evolutions.
