Pokémon Survivor Burst Evolutions, Regions, Kecleon
Evolve during a run, branch into special regionals under specific requirements, then spend fragments on Shop Core.
Pokémon Survivor Burst splits growth into two clocks. Inside a run, your fighter can evolve and, as of 4.5, can take regional branches when the requirements line up. Between runs, Kecleon sells permanent upgrades on a Shop Core tree paid with fragments, while Star Pieces track per-Pokémon achievements from version 2.0. Confusing those clocks is how players evolve once, spend the wrong wallet, and think the shop is empty.
This page stays inside published facts. It will not invent a level number for evolving Mudkip, a stone name for Alolan Raichu, or a fragment price for a Core node. When the game shows a requirement, believe that prompt. When this wiki does not have the number, we say so and point you at the unlock challenges and patch notes instead of guessing.
Mid-run evolutions
Official feature list: evolve your Pokémon as your run progresses. Evolution is a power spike inside Classic, Rush, Tower, or Endless, not a Pokédex completion flag on the title screen. You still pick the pre-evolution on Choose Pokémon. The run is where the sprite and kit can change.
Play the pre-evolution long enough to learn its auto-attacks before you assume the evolution will save a bad route. Burst timing (see the Burst guide) often shifts after the spike: bigger animations, different safe windows. If you only ever see the evolved form on someone else’s leaderboard clip, you will mis-time the first Burst after the change.
Version 2.0 added a Form System for certain Pokémon. Treat forms and evolutions as related but not identical. A form change can be a mid-run state. An evolution is the line moving forward. Details on the select screen is still your pre-run homework (controls).
Regional branches in 4.5
Version 4.5 added regional forms for all currently available Pokémon where applicable, plus three named branches with specific requirements:
- Kirlia → Gallade
- Quilava → Hisuian Typhlosion
- Pikachu → Alolan Raichu
Those requirements are real and unpublished as exact numbers here. Do not copy a main-series method (dawn stone, Hisuian item, Thunder Stone) as if this fangame documented it. Watch the in-run prompt. If a run never offers the branch, you did not meet the specific requirement—not “the feature is missing.”
Regional forms change what “the same Pokémon” means for builds. A Classic Mudkip clear does not teach you Alolan Raichu. Mode medals stay per Pokémon on the select slot you queued; do not assume a regional evolution also gifted Rush to a different line. Roster slots still come from challenges, not from evolving.
If you are hunting a regional on purpose, pick the pre-evolution you already survive with, play Classic so you have time to see the prompt, and only then try Rush. Tower’s 4.0 difficulty rework is a poor first laboratory for a branch you have never seen.
Kecleon Shop: permanent, not in-wave
Version 3.0 added the Kecleon Shop System for permanent upgrades and permanent bonuses. You shop between runs. The UI labels are Core, Next Buy, Hide Details, and Close. Core is the Shop Core tree. Complete the standard upgrades to unlock more of that tree. Next Buy is there so you do not purchase the wrong node. Hide Details is for when you already know the text. Close leaves.
This is the roguelite meta layer. A fragment spent here is supposed to still matter tomorrow. Do not treat Kecleon like a Vampire Survivors in-run pickup table. Those pickups still happen during the wave. Kecleon is the account-shaped tree that makes every wave slightly less hostile.
Fragments are the published spend resource for this layer. Completing Tower grants an additional Fragment, which is why Tower is part of shop planning rather than a vanity mode. If the Core tree is gated on standard upgrades you have not finished, more fragments will not skip the gate—buy the standard nodes first.
Spend order without fake prices:
- If you still die before challenges resolve, buy survival and clarity.
- If you clear Classic easily but never see Rush medals, you may not need more shop power—you need the mode chain on that species.
- If Tower is unlocked on a Pokémon you trust, run Tower when you specifically need the extra fragment.
- If a node is still locked, finish the standard upgrades that unlock it instead of rage-buying random remaining goods.
Star Pieces and per-Pokémon achievements
Version 2.0 added new achievements for each Pokémon and the Star Piece system. Those are collection goals attached to fighters you already own. They are not a third shop currency that replaces fragments, and they are not a code you type. Finish the achievement on that species; take the Star Piece as the game presents it.
Because achievements are per Pokémon, a Mudkip-heavy Classic habit will not complete Star Pieces on a locked line. Expand the roster with challenges, then loop back. The unlock checklist is the right companion so you do not mix “species I cannot select yet” with “achievement I have not done.”
Star Pieces also give you a reason to replay a Pokémon after the mode medals are done. That replay is when regional branches and Burst timing actually get practice reps.
Endless shop is a different counter
Version 4.5 added a specialized shop exclusive to Endless Mode and a new currency exclusive to Endless Mode. That shop is not Kecleon with a new coat. Endless currency does not complete the Shop Core tree. Core fragments do not stock Endless-only goods.
Use Kecleon when you are preparing every future run. Use the Endless shop when you are already inside Endless and the exclusive catalog is the point of that session. If you cannot find an item, change mode before you assume a patch deleted it. Game modes keeps the four-mode map honest.
Temporary bonuses from 3.0/4.0, including Tower-exclusive ones, also stay out of Kecleon. They are in-run. Mixing “temporary,” “permanent,” and “Endless-exclusive” in one sentence is how bad build posts start.
A fragment week that does not stall
A practical loop for a 4.5 save:
- Classic on a hunter until a challenge pops, or Classic on a new species until Rush unlocks for them.
- Rush on that same species only when you want Tower access or a timed board entry.
- Tower on a species that already earned it, when you want the extra fragment and exclusive temporary bonuses.
- Kecleon: Core → finish standard upgrades → Next Buy on the newly unlocked node that matches your deaths, then Close.
- Endless only on a kit you already understand, spending Endless currency in the Endless shop.
- After a patch, overwrite the install as the download guide describes so the Data folder (and the name on those medals) survives.
Mudkip remains a reasonable Classic engine while this loop runs: Water Pulse, Damp Recovery, 112 HP, 2.32 Speed, and a lot of published Classic board space. Use that stability to fund fragments, not as an excuse to never open another Details screen.
ClessioTV is still adding Pokémon, attacks, and synergies; community polls for later generations already exist on the Eevee Expo thread. Your Shop Core and Star Pieces are how a 4.5 save stays relevant when the next fighter lands. Evolve in the run. Spend between runs. Keep the wallets separate. That is the whole shop-and-evolution game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When do Pokémon evolve in a run?
As the run progresses—the official description. This wiki does not invent a level. Watch the in-run prompt, then adjust Burst timing using the Burst guide.
How do I get Gallade, Hisuian Typhlosion, or Alolan Raichu?
Version 4.5 added those branches under specific requirements that are not listed as exact numbers here. Play the pre-evolution and follow the in-game condition. Regional context is also on unlock Pokémon.
What does Kecleon sell?
Permanent upgrades on the Shop Core tree. Finish standard upgrades to unlock more. Prompts are Core, Next Buy, Hide Details, and Close. See controls for those labels.
How do I earn more fragments?
Play and complete runs; Tower grants an additional Fragment on completion. Mode access is per Pokémon—read game modes before you farm the wrong ruleset.
Is the Endless shop the same as Kecleon?
No. 4.5 added an Endless-only shop and Endless-only currency. Do not mix those purchases with Shop Core. Differences are summarized on game modes.
What are Star Pieces?
Version 2.0 added per-Pokémon achievements and the Star Piece system. They are collection goals on fighters you own, not promo codes. Track species progress with the unlock checklist.
